On the CASE As treatment of disease improves and life expectancy is extended, many of us will face difficult decisions about life and death. CASE, the Centre for Apologetic Scholarship and Education, will tackle these issues in their second annual conference on Medical Ethics on March 27. Speakers include Megan Best, Frank Brennan, Russell Clark and Kate Bradford, and the conference will be at New College at the University of NSW.

Marching to Zion Well not to God’s holy mountain, but through the centres of Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart, Adelaide, Perth and Darwin for a public celebration of the Resurrection on Easter Sunday. Since 1990 Fusion Australia’s Awakening movement has encouraged Christians to celebrate that “Christ is risen!” In Sydney the march starts at Town Hall at 12.30 with a festival in Hyde Park from 2pm.

NICE of you to call Dr Charlie Justins and Chris Parker from the National Institute for Christian Education recently spent a week touring the NT presenting the Certificate of Christian Education. They presented to teachers in  some of the most far flung Christian schools: Marrara Christian College and Palmerston Christian School (Darwin), Nhulumbuy Christian School (Arnhem Land) and Araluen Christian College (Alice Springs).

Off the air Australian Christian Channel’s free to air service in Sydney is going to be switched off. Broadcast Australia’s datacasting trial, which carries them on digital channel 46, has received one final extension, and will go dark around April 30 according to The Australian. The service, which was due to end in January got an extra three months after lobbying by the Aboriginal channel NITV.

PNG renewal The first Level 1 Langham Preaching seminar in Papua New Guinea took place early in December in Banz, an hour’s drive east of Mt Hagen. 118 preachers attended from 24 different denominational groups, and contingents from SIL-Wycliffe, Gospel Recordings, and Evangelical Alliance.The seminar was facilitated by Paul Windsor, Associate Director for Langham Preaching, with Melbourne’s Andrew Reid and Tim Johnson.
